World-class cultural institutions like the Queen Elizabeth Hall, National Theatre and Hayward Gallery followed in subsequent decades, drawing visitors to acclaimed performances and exhibitions. Over recent years, the whole area along this stretch of the river has undergone a complete transformation, earning it a reputation as the beating heart of the capital. No other destination boasts such a rich and varied mix of culture, outdoor space, architecture and nightlife.
